I Thought I Needed More Answers… Turns Out I Needed Less Noise

I realised something recently…

I’ve been trying to think my way to clarity.

And if I’m honest, it’s exhausting.

The more I think about what I want, what direction to take, what the next step should be… the more tangled it all seems to become. It’s like my mind is constantly trying to solve something that doesn’t actually respond to more thinking.

Maybe you’ve felt that too?

That sense of being stuck — not because you’re not capable, but because there’s just too much going on in your head to actually hear yourself clearly.

Over the weekend, I went along to an introductory session on Transcendental Meditation (TM). I didn’t go because I wanted to “learn meditation” in a structured way… I went because something in me knew I needed a different approach.

Why This Feels Different

What struck me most was how simple it was.

There was no forcing your mind to be quiet.
No trying to control your thoughts.
No pressure to “get it right.”

In fact, it was the opposite.

It was about allowing the mind to settle… naturally.

That landed.

Because if I look at how I’ve been approaching things lately, it’s been a lot of effort. A lot of trying. A lot of pushing for answers.

And maybe clarity doesn’t come from that.

Maybe clarity comes when there’s space for it to emerge.

So, I’ve decided to learn the technique properly. I start this week.

Not because I think meditation is going to “fix” anything…

But because I can see that creating space — real space — might be the missing piece.

This feels like a different kind of step.

Not a doing step.
More of an allowing step.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, constantly turning things over in your mind, trying to work it all out… you might understand what I mean.

Sometimes it’s not about finding better answers.

It’s about creating enough quiet to actually hear them.

I’ll share how this unfolds once I’ve had some real experience with it.

And if this resonates with you — if you’re in that space of feeling stuck and not quite sure why — you can explore that a little more here: feeling-stuck-in-life

This is just the beginning of something I’m exploring… and I have a feeling it’s going to open up more than I expect.

If you’re following this journey, I’ll be sharing what I notice as I go.
